The 2025 Miami Grand Prix brought the glitz, the heat, and some seriously spicy racing. From a teenage pole-sitter to veteran mind games, this was Formula 1 at its most unpredictable — and possibly a sign of the season’s momentum shifting for good.
Kimi Arrives: Antonelli’s Sprint Pole Shakes Up the Grid
All eyes were on Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, who stunned the paddock by claiming pole position for the Sprint — the first of his F1 career. At just 18 years old, the Italian prodigy showed calm under pressure and blistering pace around the twisty Miami layout. While he couldn't convert it into a Sprint win, the performance was a loud reminder: the future is arriving fast.

🧱 Verstappen = Wall in Miami
In Sunday’s main event, it was Max Verstappen’s defensive masterclass that set the tone. Despite not having the outright pace, the Red Bull driver held off a relentless attack from both McLarens, playing every apex and exit to perfection. Lando Norris, stuck behind Max for crucial laps, saw his race strategy unravel in real-time. That delay proved costly — not just tactically, but in the bigger picture.
Because while Norris was tangled in Red Bull resistance, Oscar Piastri built a massive gap upfront as Lando took 5 laps to get past Max but it cost him 9 seconds ; which were crucial in the end

🟠 McLaren Momentum: Oscar Hits 3 Wins
With clean air and perfect tire management, Oscar Piastri looked untouchable. This win marked his 4th victory of the season, the first time he’s ever won three in a row in his single seater career. He now leads the championship by 16 points over teammate Norris — the Aussie’s consistency and calm may just be turning into a title-winning edge.

🔵 Albon Shines, Ferrari Struggles
Another surprise of the weekend was the pace of the Williams — particularly in the hands of Alex Albon, who finished ahead of both Ferraris. Whether it was setup magic or just sheer driver brilliance, the blue cars were flying, and Ferrari had no answer whatsoever to the pace of Albono who matched his best result of the season to finish P5
Speaking of Ferrari...

🔴 Internal Fire: Leclerc vs. Hamilton Heats Up
If things weren’t tough enough for the Scuderia, the intra-team battle between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton reached a boiling point in Miami. The two swapped places under team orders — throughout the race, but it was the radio chatter from Hamilton that added fuel to the fire. A few pointed taunts to his race engineer about Leclerc’s pace hinted at rising frustration, a tea party invitation and possibly deeper issues brewing inside Maranello.

📊 Final Thoughts: Oscar’s Championship to Lose?
With Miami in the books, Oscar Piastri is looking more and more like a complete package: fast, composed, and strategic. If he keeps this up, McLaren may have its first serious title shot in over a decade — and it might not be with the driver most expected.
Lando's pace is undeniable. But Oscar’s timing? Impeccable.
Miami brought the heat — both on and off the track. The question now is: can anyone cool down Oscar Piastri?
